There?s no doubt about it ? a mobility hoist is a big investment to make. That?s why it?s so important to make sure that you choose the right one for you. However, whilst a wide range of hoists does help you to find one which is more closely tailored to your needs, it can sometimes make it confusing when you aren?t sure which one to choose.
The Molift Smart and the Molift Quick Raiser are two of our most popular hoists due to their effective lifting, easy control and cost-effective price, but if you?re stuck between the two, which one should you choose?
To help, here?s our step-by-step guide to both hoists, including their features and the situations they?re ideally suited for.

The Molift Quick Raiser series ? a fantastic hoist for people who can weight bear.
The Molift Quick Raiser is better suited for patients who can weight bear to some degree. If this is possible, then the person can be very quickly strapped in, raised to a semi-standing or semi-seated position and then manoeuvred to the wheelchair, bed, chair or toilet. The Molift Quick Raiser comes as a series of 3 hoists with varying weight capacities.
How can I use it?
If the person is able to weight bear to some degree, then the Molift Quick Raiser offers simpler lifting compared to the Molift Smart. Instead of having to be supported by a hoist with their whole body being lifted, the Quick Raiser simply allows them to be lifted into a semi-standing position with support around the lower back and legs. They also face the front of the hoist when they?re strapped in, which allows the operator to move them rearwards into a bed, toilet or wheelchair and then use the simple controls for a safer descent into the seated position.
A key benefit of the Molift Quick Raiser is that the sling only needs to be placed around the lower back, waist and legs, meaning that the operator doesn?t have to get the sling under the buttocks of the user whilst they?re in a seated position ? which is often a difficult task.
What is the lifting weight?
The Molift Quick Raiser 1 has a safe working load of 160kg (352lbs), the Molift Quick Raiser 2 has a safe working load of 160kg (352lbs), and the Molift Quick Raiser 2+ has a 200kg (440lb) working load which is suitable for bariatric users.
What are the features?
- Easy ascending and descending with lower back and leg support
- Perfect for patients who can load bear to some degree
- Three models to suit different user requirements
- Can allow users to change clothes in the raised position
- Quick Raiser 2 and 2+ have electric legs for extra flexibility
- Supplied with battery and charger
Any accessories?
The Quick Raiser series comes with a series of specialist slings. All of them are suited to the size of the user, whilst extra support slings are available for users who may need more lumbar support compared to the standard sling.
